What does Kerry do for FPIN?
As the Lead Scholarship Specialist at FPIN, I help manage the workflows of our writing projects. My focus is to ensure these projects run smoothly and members have a positive experience. In addition, I oversee the editorial review process, ensuring all HDAs and GEMs adhere to FPIN's high-quality standards. My responsibilities include assigning editors and peer reviewers, accurately processing proposal questions, and collaborating with local editors, deputy editors, and authors to ensure manuscripts are completed.
Background
I earned my master’s in Teaching and Curriculum from the University of Missouri. In my career, I’ve had the opportunity to teach abroad, complete a national fellowship in science leadership, and received multiple outdoor education travel scholarships. I’ve also led and coordinated numerous student trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and have been recognized for my achievements in sustainability education. After over a decade in education, I’m thrilled to join the FPIN team. My diverse experiences have honed my skills in critical analysis, effective communication, mentorship, and adaptability. I look forward to leveraging these strengths at FPIN while continuing to grow professionally.

I am passionate about exploring new places, particularly national parks, where I can fully immerse myself in nature. Whether working out or focusing on my overall health and wellness, staying active is my priority. I enjoy various activities that keep me moving and engaged, including hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, reading, watching sports, and catching a good movie.
Unique Skills
As a certified personal trainer focusing on nutrition, I thrive on challenging myself and inspiring others to achieve their best mental and physical health. I’m also passionate about planning road trips across the country, always seeking out unique and creative destinations that capture the beauty and wonder of the world. These experiences fuel my love for adventure and personal growth.

From the unexpected snow on my June wedding day to a year spent living in Taiwan, my life has been filled with unique experiences.
