Board of Directors
We are grateful to have a strong leadership team that is dedicated to providing a pathway for family medicine physicians to learn and teach scholarly activity and EBM concepts. At FPIN, we are represented by a diverse and experienced board of directors. Our board members consist of chairs, program directors and faculty leaders at various residency programs across the country. Our board is comprised of seven Founding Member programs and four Membership-at-Large Directors.
We are always looking for candidates interested in leadership positions at FPIN. Individuals are welcome to complete this FORM if interested in any opportunities. We are also happy to provide job descriptions for different positions, as requested.

Committees
Membership Committee. The Membership Committee is responsible for assessing and communicating to the Board the satisfaction levels of new and current members in order to maintain relationships and develop new growth strategies. The Membership Committee is responsible for tracking and disseminating annual data to the Board of Directors regarding membership recruitment and retention.

Nominations Committee. The Nominations Committee is responsible for the recruitment and nomination of Board Officers, Membership-at-Large Directors, Vice Presidents and committee members. The Board of Directors must vote to approve each board officer, Membership-at-Large Director, and Vice President. The committee is also responsible for recommending amendments and repeals to the Articles or Bylaws with subsequent Board approval.

Finance Committee. The Finance Committee is responsible for the financial oversight of the organization. This is done through the development of an annual budget which is presented at the beginning of each fiscal year, which runs January through December. This annual recommended budget will include membership fees, editorial compensation, organizational expenses, and other income opportunities, etc. The Finance Committee will recommend changes to the budget and ask the Board of Directors to approve the revised budget at each board meeting. The Finance Committee will also take responsibility for determining the amount of funds needed for reserves and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for developing additional streams of revenue to ensure that the organization remains sustainable.

aBIDE (Accountability, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) Committee. The aBIDE (accountability for Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) Committee is responsible for driving content that encourages health equity and anti-racism through evidence-based medicine and ensuring we serve a diverse community of member programs. aBIDE will also elevate our organizational culture and the work we produce by identifying ways we can help better fulfill our core values.

Education Committee. The Education Committee is responsible for discovering ways to leverage the organization’s existing expertise to expand FPIN’s educational resources and reach in the following five areas: 1.) Quality Improvement scholarship, 2.) Competency development, 3.) Expansion of critical appraisal education, 4.) Diversification of evidence-based medicine curriculum, and 5.) Faculty leadership development.
