Jane Baque, Cross Functional Specialist

What does Jane do for FPIN?

In my role as Cross Functional Specialist, I help support a variety of FPIN’s organizational priorities. Most recently, I am supporting the processing and production of the organization’s many writing projects, including CIs, PURLs, GEMs, and HDAs. My focus is on ensuring that our members have a positive and productive experience in their engagement with FPIN.

Background

Throughout my career, I have worked for nonprofit medical associations, managing the development and production of print and online scholarly publications, medical journals, and medical education. Although my early career was focused on print publishing, I have recently developed online publications and education for physicians.  I am very excited to bring diverse experiences in project management, editing, and member support to FPIN.

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new hobbies, particularly activities that are new and challenging, but also creative – most recently learning to quilt. I enjoy spending time with my family, in particular, my new grandson.

Unique Skills

I am a strong project manager and thrive on projects that are inherently challenging and complicated.  I always strive to simplify and streamline these processes so that everyone who participates is well supported.

Fun Facts

Although I graduated from college with degrees in the humanities, I took enough biology and chemistry classes to finish with a double minor in those areas as well. I enjoy learning and I have been fortunate to be able to continue to explore the humanities and sciences throughout my career.

What do you love most about FPIN?

I love that the mission of the organization is rooted in both publication and education, and has found a unique and worthwhile way to combine both into impactful opportunities for members to contribute to the literature. I feel fortunate to be part of a community that is striving for the best in practice.

Favorite Netflix series or movie and why?

I would have to choose Ozark as my favorite series so far.  It’s a little dark, but it has unexpected plot twists and interesting characters.
